This weekend, four Year 9 students from Wallan Secondary College are off to the Alpine School Campus of the School for Student Leadership.
Alicia Lovelace, Josh Kirby, Talicia White and Kyle Broomfield will spend Term 1 (until April 5th) at the Alpine Residential camp, engaging is activities such as mountain bike riding, photography, peer skills, first aid, raft building and presentation skills. These activities help to develop skills such as problem solving, relationship skills and confidence.
"Our unique program at the Alpine School focuses on engaging the students in activities which allow them to explore and learn about the local environment and cultures; both indigenous and non-indigenous. Gaining a sense of belonging in local places through knowledge and experience is a key learning outcome."
The students were chosen after an extensive application and interview process.
We wish them an enjoyable and exciting experience.
