Wowie! 300 squares were knitted in our first year of supporting the Kas-care Knit-a-Square program. I cannot thank enough all staff, students, and community members who have supported the program this year.
Unfortunately Kas-Care (our charity) doesn't specify how many squares are required for each blanket, obviously so they can create multiple sizes for varying children. So while we don't know how many blankets we have contributed exactly, 300 squares is an amazing number that I'm sure will warm plenty of children in need.
I hope Cathy, Edna and I have helped spread the joy of knitting as well as developing patience and perseverance in our textiles students. I hope to see all of the students again next year to pick up the knitting needles for such a worthy cause and maybe even to show off some of thier own knitted creations along the way.
Thanks and well done!
