We have been advised by Seymour Coaches that from Monday 2nd December the 'myki' system will be implemented across all Wallan town services, this will affect local bus services.
The new system will affect all Wallan Town paying bus travellers who currently use cash. These services travel around the town and to the train station. From 2nd December you will need to bring and use a 'myki' card when entering and exiting the bus.
If you intend to occasionally travel by bus, you will need a 'myki' and a permission note from home for the day of travel.
To assist with the changeover, a representative from Seymour Coaches will be parked in the bus bay at Wallan Secondary College on Friday 29th November between 10.45am and 11.45am, to sell 'myki' cards, provide a top up service or answer any questions parents or carers may have. Wallan Secondary College students will be able to visit the bus during recess.
Drivers of Wallan town service buses will have 'myki' cards available to buy and top up facilities on board the buses from 2nd of December.
From February 2014, cash will not be accepted for fares and a 'myki' will be required for all paying travellers. Any students with bus passes will not require a 'myki' card for their normal travel.
Mr. A Ellis, Bus Coordinator.
